Dependent Pass
Dependent's pass (DP) is a pass for people who work or do business in Singapore. If they hold an Employment Pass (EP), Skill Pass (SP), or Enterpass, they can apply for a Dependent's pass for their spouse and children under the age of 21. Children holding Dependent's passes are eligible to attend primary and secondary schools in Singapore.
Application conditions
- Employment Pass holders with a minimum monthly salary of S$6,000

Dependant Pass Rights
- You can stay in Singapore for a long time and enter and exit Singapore. You can immediately apply for LOC work without applying for a separate work permit. SP holders with DPs are an exception. They need to apply for a separate work permit. Children holding DPs can immediately enroll in Singapore without applying for a separate student pass. The order of protection for Singapore government schools is:
- Singapore Citizens Singapore Permanent Resident Dependant Pass Holders Foreigners
- If a DP wants to apply for SP or EP, it must cancel the DP first before applying

how to apply
- You must ask your employer to submit an application for each family member. You can apply together with the employment pass or apply separately. You can submit the application through the MOM platform.
Validity period
- Not more than two years, the renewal period is linked to the validity period of the attached SP or EP
Renewal of Dependant’s Pass
- You can apply for renewal 6 months before the DP expires. It usually takes no more than three weeks to process the renewal of the DP online. But please note that you must apply for the renewal of the DP before it expires. About 3 months before the DP expires, Entrepass and EP holders will receive a renewal letter, which is called a renewal letter in English, and can apply for a renewal permit. The approval time usually does not exceed eight weeks.
